About the product

Built with advanced technology, this reader is designed to simulate a keyboard, making data input into any application, open on your PC, as easy as presenting a card/tag at the reader.

With its ability to read various transponder cards, including Hitag™ 1, Hitag™ 2, and EM4102, at the industry-standard frequency of 125kHz, the SSR-221 is both versatile and reliable.

The reader can read various card bit lengths and can be configured to read the specific bit lengths required for your application.

Its blue LED flashes when idle, while a green LED indicates a successful card read. The reader also features a Piezo buzzer, which produces an audible signal for successful card reads, ensuring precise and accurate data input.

In addition to its standard card enrolment, the SSR-221 is also available as an SSR-225 model with CDC firmware for virtual COM port communication, catering to applications that require it.

Designed for easy installation, the SSR-221 comes with a splash-proof back cover and can be mounted in any orientation using the mounting screw holes or placed on a desk.

It’s the perfect solution for simplifying data input in a wide range of applications.

Installation

The SSR-221 Take-on Reader is a state-of-the-art proximity reader that connects to your PC effortlessly through a USB cable.

The reader is specially designed to be used with our SACS Access Control Software, but it is also compatible with any application that accepts keyboard input.

This is a virtual COM port reader that connects via USB to different applications that require COM port communication in stead of the standard HID take-on reader.

Also available in a SSR-225: Take-on Reader with CDC Firmware (USB).

Operation

Any changes made at the PC are immediately communicated and stored at the controller. When a user presents their card to the reader, the controller identifies them and permits or denies access as appropriate.
